How to Download Public Facebook Videos
Published 2026-08-08
A public Facebook video link is all Saveo needs: paste it, preview the clip, and download the file. Reels and Watch links work the same way, while private posts and group-restricted content stay out of reach.
What this guide covers
Which Facebook links work, how to copy them, and what the known limitations are.
Step-by-step: download a Facebook video
- Open the public video, Reel, or Watch page in the Facebook app or on facebook.com.
- Copy the link — on mobile, tap Share then Copy link; on desktop, copy the URL.
- Paste the link into Saveo's Facebook downloader and press Find media.
- Preview the video and click Download.
Platform-specific behavior
Facebook video links resolve as video results with a preview and size estimate. Reel links behave the same way. Watch URLs (facebook.com/watch?v=...) are supported.
Common problems
The most common failures: the video is friends-only or group-restricted, the page was removed, or the video is region-locked. Photo-only posts are not supported by the Facebook resolver at all — use the Instagram downloader for photo posts from Instagram, not Facebook.
What Saveo supports
Public Facebook videos, Reels, and Watch links. Private groups, friends-only content, and photo-only posts are not supported.
