Audio extraction is an action on a video result, not a separate endpoint: the video is resolved first, then the audio track is extracted from it. This means the same link can give you either the video file or the MP3, and the quality ladder stays available for the video form.

Common problems

Audio extraction fails when the video itself cannot be resolved — private, age-restricted, or removed content. Audio-only formats are not served for every video; when they are not, the extractor reports it.
